I love beads. If you could see my beading room, you'd understand! Oh yes, I'm afraid I'm quite addicted :)

But that's not as bad as it sounds because I can take those beads, add a few components and create something unique, original and beautiful!

I call these items Hawthorne Originals.

I don't mass produce my jewelry. I create a design and make a few pieces, then that design is retired. Why? Two reasons...

1. Beading should be joyful and come from the heart, not drudgery! I love to create new designs.

2.  Who wants to buy a beautiful piece of jewelry only to walk into a room and see it on someone else? I would prefer my jewelry to be original and unique, something you can hand down to your children and grandchildren; something that has lasting memories for you and for your family.

You will know these designs because they will be marked as Another Hawthorne Original!

I also like to browse through antique stores so from time to time I will find some piece of lovely vintage jewelry that I will offer for sale. It will be clearly marked as "vintage" and  if I can find any specific information about it, that will be listed with it.

You will also note that I give descriptions of all my jewelry and what each bead is, whether it is a certain type of crystal, semi-precious gemstone, or vintage bead, each bead's size and the length of the piece. If the gemstone is purported to bring certain properties, I will also list those if they are available.

You may also note that there is a great variation in price. Having spent a number of years as a single mom, I know how important it can be to make every dollar stretch - and just how hard that can be! There is no difference in the work that goes into making each piece, but I do try to find materials that can meet every budget. You will see items that are made with fine Swarovski Genuine Austrian Crystals with silver or gold plated findings and/or sterling silver and you will see items made with various resins, and surgical steel findings. I hope to offer something for everyone.
