My name is Susan Tilghman Hawthorne. I live in Portsmouth, VA with my husband, Steve. We live in a wonderful house with dark pink shutters and door.

Yep, that's right PINK! :)

When we were looking for a house, we looked at many but just couldn't seem to find the one that was right for us. We'd seen this one advertised, but there was no picture so we thought it probably was run down. But as we were getting discouraged with what we'd seen thus far, we finally decided to take a look.

The realtor drove us out to see it as the house came into view as we rounded a curve. We all exclaimed at the same time "Its PINK!"

We were amused, to say the least, but then we went inside and it was absolutely perfect!

The woman who owned the house was there and told us, with great pride, that they'd just re-painted the shutters and door. LOL.

We privately agreed that the first thing we'd do, if we bought the house, was to change that color.

But guess what! We've been here 8 years and they're still pink! The color fit the personality of the house and we've come to love it. So keep that in mind... cause ya' just never know! hehe.
